Effect Radio has 50+ translators and 4 full-power stations across the nation, most of which are capable of Local Origination announcements.
Local Origination refers to radio announcements that are broadcast only within a translator's area. A translator's transmission can be heard 20-30 miles from the source, depending on the terrain.
The FCC allows 30 seconds at the top of the hour for broadcast of Local Origination – messages that are of local interest, such as church invitations. This air time is reserved for ministry use only.
In each time zone, the 24 hour clock is broken up into 10 "rotations." (A rotation is simply the name for a certain set of air times). Each rotation has 2 or 3 air times per day. For example: church invitations on Rotation 9 in the Pacific timezone run at 12:00 PM (Noon), 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
The suggested donation depends on the number of rotations you choose and your location. The average cost is $100 per month, per rotation.
Local Origination announcements run 365 days a year, so notices can be inserted for special events, in addition to the normal church invitation.
NOTE: The Effect is in the process of installing new receivers that don't use the rotation system. On these receivers, the spots will be loaded to the air times you choose. Please contact us for information about the receiver in your area.
