Am I Good Enough?
Am I good enough? Am I doing too much or too little? Am I doing things so that people will like me or approve of me? I feel like I am not me. I’m just going to quit trying. It’s not worth it.
These questions and statements are in all of us, meaning we have all said these things at least once in our lives. However, we fail to remember that YES! We are good enough and we are people of quality. We all have worth because that is how we were created. It’s “who we are.”
Too many times we allow those around us wrapped in their own traumas of life to define us and who we are. Although we come with our own damage from life, we are all worth something not only to society, but also to the Kingdom of God.
Here are some reasons why:
We all were given “talents/gifts” to help our fellow people.
We all are not alike. Similar yes, but not the same. There is a difference. I’ll explain later.
We all, whether it be type A personalities or more subdued personalities, we all are here to serve one another.
So, are we good enough for those around us? Can I be used to Affect or Effect a change??
Yes! We are. We are all on this earth to contribute. Now, the system of life that we live under has been brought about by life before us, however, we all are and should be catalysts for change. We can always be better than we were yesterday. WE can Affect that change and cause an Effectual societal change in those around us...Only if we choose to though.
We are not alike. Similar yes but not the same. We can have the same abilities that others do, however we are always at different levels of skill and dare I say perception on how to use the skills and talents we have. I will even go as far as to say in a common societal concept. I see things from different points of view that the person next to me can see. Where someone might see despair and offer comfort to a person in return, I might see a solution and offer hope to that same person. See we all see things differently. And because of that, we combat the world everyday.
This is not so much a religious post as it is an encouragement to everyone…No matter the circumstance you are in, or how life is playing out around us. We are all here on purpose, to encourage and be a comfort and hope to those around us.
If you do believe in Jesus Christ then you are also here to plant seeds for the Kingdom. Remembering that our jobs with that are not the same as well. Some of us plant, some of us water the seed. The Holy Spirit directs in that aspect. But always, always, always be willing to be used by God, and by those around us as an encouragement and a place to help bring people up, because: You are “good enough” You are “worth it” You are “able.
