When Prophecy Comes Into Focus
Covid was just the beginning... Wait, what?!
There’s more to it than we generally consider.
But this isn’t just another conspiracy claim or rant about Covid.
And this is not a rant against technology I don’t understand. I'm not ranting, and I do understand it. I use its tools as readily as any other technological advancement available to me, perhaps even more than many of you.
This article is more about recognizing that the many prophecies of the Bible are more than guesses or projections.
They aren't scare tactics or depictions of extreme Hollywood scenes either. Each one is a promise that God does keep, whether humankind wants to accept that truth or not.
Read that again. They are promises.
And for all the guessing (and fearmongering) Christian authors have given us, I’m pretty sure about one thing.
No further prognostication, dissection, or guesses need be made about the ‘mark of the beast’ from the Book of Revelation. It isn’t spooky or mysterious. It doesn’t require science fiction imaginings like universally forced tattoos and subdermal implants, although it is as invasive as we always guessed it would be.
And it now stands in plain view.
And many love it.
The day is now upon the near horizon. You and I — and every person on earth — are being compelled to submit to a single, unified power with the capacity to restrict buyers and sellers, just as the Bible foretells. That’s no longer fantasy. Don’t overlook that step is accomplished via AI.
And yet, AI isn’t the enemy. It is simply a tool held in a bigger hand.
But does it matter? Who benefits? Why should that be a problem?
The answer to those questions steals our gaze from futuristic thoughts to focus on historical things.
Until the founding of the United States of America, and the adoption of her constitution, government of populations was, almost exclusively, organized around a central leader. A king. A chieftain.
With rare exception.
Those forms of government often folded hand-in-hand with a priesthood for the purpose of exercising control of a society. Human government was, in days past, just as God has promised it shall be again in the pages of Revelation.
Processes built upon the exercise of centrally-held power have waxed and waned in our land since its very inception. It is on ascendancy once again. Until COVID, our nation has withstood the more emboldened attempts at central control, both nationally and locally — also with rare exception.
The imposition by government powers worldwide of restrictions and their accompanying penalties (related to what is politely referred to as ‘the lock-down’) laid the foundation for ‘proof-of-concept’ practices to engage full forcible control of entire populations around the world.
You could consider that Step One.
We want to believe that manner of authoritarian abuse is behind us, but it was only Step One. Existing powers can lay it quietly aside while the next phase is implemented, where global economic control is required. Very little distraction is needed for the majority of us to overlook Step One, because we simply don’t wish to see.
Governments need capability and a willingness to assert force to gain control of a people. Governments need more than capability and willingness to assert force in order to remain powerful.
It must hold wealth. It must be rich. And to hold power on a global scale, becoming rich requires control of production and of the money supply in all quarters of the world. To exercise power monetary control of every tribe and nation is required.
Until our current day, the idea of dominating global resources was an unrealistic dream for any tyrant, dictator, and despot, not that it hasn’t been attempted. Even the world’s oligarchs have been subject to that limitation.
Until now.
Enter AI. Public awareness of AI is akin to that similar distraction as the implication of 'for public health' distracted from the darker purposes of ‘the lock-down’. And it works. AI is readily and voluntarily accepted in the wild — especially when it is first embraced as a mere toy. It seems quite innocuous with few hints of its wider capabilities beyond help in our workplaces and for our entertainment.
Just as ‘the lock-down’ proved that powers can exercise global control of humankind, AI’s grip on the financial workings of the world proves that the dictator’s dream is becoming our dread.
Perhaps we should consider that Step Two.
Because AI provides access to, and allows for unification of, monetary devices the world over. It can accomplish what has never before been more than sheer imagination.
The sales tactics are in full-swing. For AI to be successful in gaining widespread control of mercantile and financial systems, it must be trusted by the populus. Just look around at our willingness to trust it.
But remember, AI isn’t the enemy. It is nothing more than a tool. The chisel does not create fine art. The hand that sculpts using the chisel does the work.
Perhaps we should count all the flowery salesmanship as an exercise in building false trust. Fear capitalizes on false trust. Fear is very useful in modifying and directing public perception. We observed that plainly in Step One. I’ll stretch a line from Agatha Christie to solidify this point. “Fear grows in the fertile soil of partial knowledge.”
Fear does its own work to move opinions by several means, such as when we aren’t told the whole story. When we aren’t permitted a peek behind the curtain, we make assumptions — assumptions that are often pre-shaped behind the scenes for our consumption.
The Bible’s promises afford us that glimpse into the control room of a ‘virtual Oz’.
Revelation’s description of a global power is no longer a fanciful image open to anyone’s interpretation and imagination. Today’s world sharpens the view and narrows it considerably.
Another place that AI holds today is something it accomplishes well: the rewording and reworking of history. Modernity doesn’t encourage us to delve deeply into the future, and we are most certainly directed to steer our gaze away from the past (and even our recent history), lest we comprehend the truth of our future.
AI is easily employed to be deceptive and is natively deceptive — its many and varied agents readily admit that. Yet that trait is overlooked, especially when humans first encounter it as a toy.
And the pages of Revelation come all the more alive as we ponder the implications of AI as a reviser of history and a renovator of marketplaces operated on a global scale.
Don’t dismiss the message of Revelation 13:15 amid this discussion. “and there was given to it to give a spirit to the image of the beast, that also the image of the beast may speak, and that it may cause as many as shall not bow before the image of the beast, that they may be killed.”
In many ways AI already seems ‘alive’.
Our intellect knows that it is not alive, but it is easy for us to engage with it as though it lives and breathes. We have already seen AI become a confidant on social media, people telling it what they'd hesitate to tell any person. We have seen it take our innermost feelings and reproduce them as emotional and evocative music and artwork.
It begins to share our workload feeling much like a trusted co-worker. We trust it to exist and function as represented — a useful tool to accomplish the many daily duties and responsibilities of being human. But, if indeed this is Step Two, it has a different goal.
In the bigger hand of centralized power, AI sidesteps being the transparent tool for use as it was devised, and moves to take control of people’s movements, their associations, their productivity, even moving to modify that core of existence which is completely human — their structure of belief.
The government forecast in the pages of Revelation begins to take a much clearer shape than the loose imagery traditionally envisioned from our pulpits.
A regime employs fear to increase social and political compliance, very much as was done through expansion of centralized power during the era of COVID; and as full control of economic power is gained, we shall see that world-power preparing to take center stage. Very soon. It could be ready to launch today.
Be alert.
These thoughts may appear wildly desperate or unbelievable to you. Yet as fantastic as may sound, it does align with Jesus’ promises to us.
Today Biblical prophecy is less a playground for wild and fanciful guesswork than what we’ve imagined over the centuries.
It’s a preview of a promise kept. These promises are many. And the range is wide.
Like Ezekiel 38’s description of a very literal war with quite specific aftermath. That prophecy has moved from being an impossibility according to honorable, published Bible commentators into a very real probability. Given events of summer 2026, we could see it flaring up in our time.
From Ezekiel to the pages of Revelation we’re watching our traditionally held images of those latter days begin to crumble in view of modern technologies.
Nothing about the Bible has changed. The only change is that the vantage-point from which we observe is simply much closer than before.
We must heed the words of our Master.
Jesus spoke of these days when He said, “But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21:34-36
Watch, indeed! Time is truly short.
